Healthy Schools Act

The Healthy Schools Act of 2000 enables schools to provide healthy environments. This act, signed into law by former Governor Gray Davis, modified the education code to encourage schools to implement an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program. This law put into code the California Department of Pesticide Regulations (DPRs) existing voluntary school IPM program and added some new requirements regarding pesticides, such as notification, posting, and recordkeeping for schools, as well as enhanced pesticide use reporting.
